Dalton Conley, author of MHC's 2008 summer reading book, Honky, will be the convocation speaker on September 2. Watch The Well and other places for further news of Conley's visit.

Dr. Anne Rogers, Anthropology Instructor at Western Carolina University, will be our guest lecturer for the evening and will be presenting a program on, "Native Americans and Their Use of the Environment." This lecture is part of the Ramsey Center's Fall Event and Lecture Series. During the 2008 fall semester the Ramsey Center will host several lectures and events relating to the history, culture, and environment of the Southern Appalachians. This particular event is free and made possible by the North Carolina Humanities Council's Road Scholars Program. We welcome you to join us in this important educational endeavor !
