Opportunities for Service/Support:

  • Buy your morning coffee from PHI MU ALPHA every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, from 8 to 11 am.  $1 per cup.
  • For the past 22 years, Neighbors In Need, Inc. (a Madison County non-profit organization helping local families in crisis) has held a Thanksgiving Food Drive at the county Ingles stores.  Because of Ingles' new "no solicitation policy" they are no longer allowed to hold that 2 day drive.  Instead there will be designated boxes at the Ingles in Mars Hill and Marshall for two weeks (November 2-14).  A list of needs will be near the boxes.  This year Neighbors In Need has seen an 36%  increase in the calls for help.  Please stop by and pick up a list and help those in need in our county.
  • Mars Hill Retirement Community needs students to lead worship on a couple of Sundays at month around 4 P. M .in the afternoon for about 45 minutes.  Also, some of the residents have no family, and no one to visit them.   If some students would visit with these folks or even read to them, as some can no longer see well enough to read, it would be a blessing to these folks.  Please contact Donna Cole at 689-7900 for more information.
  • MHC Social Work Club Winter Clothing/Blanket Drive.  Boxes are being distributed around the dorms and main classroom buildings on campus to collect winter clothing and blankets to assist needy families this winter. All sizes and styles of winter wear are welcomed and appreciated! Please drop any donations in the boxes on campus or call Heather at 828-768-2457 to donate.
