  • November 2009: On November 6, the winners of this fall's round of research grant competition winners attended a small ceremony to receive their awards from Dr. Lunsford. Click here for the photos.

  • November 2008: Thirteen students and faculty traveled to Appalachian State University in Boone, NC to participate in the State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research & Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS). Click here for the photos.
  • October 2008: Majors Fair - MHC held its first majors fair on October 30. This was a time for students to talk informally with faculty about the majors and academic programs offered at MHC. Click here for the photos.
  • October 2008: Career Day - As part of the First Year Advising Series students and faculty participated in workshops with noted author and career specialist Gregg Levoy. Click here for the photos.
  • August 2008: Challenger's Challenge - During Gateway orientation the Challengers led groups of first year students through a number of team building exercises. Click here for the photos.
  • August 2008: As part of their fall training the Challengers participated in the low ropes challenge at Lifeway Ridgecrest Conference Center near Black Mountain, NC. Click here for the photos.
  • May 2008: The Challengers met at Glory Ridge in Marshall, NC for a two day retreat to participate in team building exercises and learn what it means to be a Challenger. Click here for the photos.
  • April 2008: SLAM - Title III awarded ten student research grants and four of the recipients presented at SLAM on April 9. Click here for the photos.
  • September 2007: Approximately forty faculty and staff participated in a two-day workshop with Peggy Maki that focused on program review and assessment. Click here for the photos.
