About Residence Life

About Residence Life
The Residence Life Department is committed to providing a safe environment that is conducive to social, personal, and educational growth of all individuals. To that end we strive to develop a sense of community and citizenship among residents living in the halls as well as teach students about the rights and responsibilities of living in a community environment.

Our Mission is to “strive to enhance the development of our students by providing a supportive and safe living-learning environment within our Residence Halls.  We, along with our residential students, share the responsibility of creating and maintaining a positive community that is conducive to student success.” Check for actual mission statement.

The Residence Life Office is here to make your experience living on campus as positive as possible. If things aren’t going well then please come and talk with us about the problem so we can help you resolve the situation. We believe in an “open door” policy and welcome your ideas, concerns and recommendations. If no one is available when you call or come by the office, leave your name and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We are located in the Student Life Suite on the third floor of the Wren College Union and look forward to working with you on your residential needs. Resident Assistant

Mars Hill also has “Student Staff” in each residence hall. They are all students at Mars Hill who have experience living in the residence halls and are generally good people to turn to for advice. Their job is to help students with the day to day challenges of living on campus. In addition, they are people you can count on to help you feel welcome and at home. If you find yourself needing assistance of any kind, your RA is there to help. Whether you need advice regarding relationships or just where to find the resources you need, they will help you find the answer.
