Alpha Chi Initiates New members
Twenty-five Mars Hill College students were recently initiated by the North Carolina Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Chi. Alpha Chi is a national honor society that recognizes outstanding overall scholarship. The top ten percent of the junior and senior classes are eligible for membership. At Mars Hill College, membership in Alpha Chi is the highest academic honor a student can receive.
According to faculty advisor, Dr. Greg Clemons, student members of Alpha Chi have access to scholarship opportunities for senior year and for graduate school, and also become eligible to present their student research at national conferences.
"Being a member of Alpha Chi not only distinguishes you from the rest, it also is an excellent venue for your future, whether it be graduate studies, employment, or your career,” he said. “The connections you establish last a life time! Being recognized as one of the top students on campus doesn’t hurt either, when it comes to preparing your resume."
