HOT DOGGETT 25 MILE FAMILY FUN RIDE

The Course Description
The family fun ride takes off along the rolling ridges of Gabriels Creek Road with panoramic views. After the descent we turn left onto Lower Gabriels Creek with a scenic view of Gabriels Creek on the right. Next we turn on Woods Ammons Road and go to South Main Street. After a fun descent down South Main Street we turn left on Beech Glen and follow the scenic Little Ivy River approximately four relatively flat miles to Walker Branch. After turning onto Walker branch there is a gentle one-mile climb and the descent to Paint Fork Road. After turning right the next six miles are relatively flat alongside Paint Fork Creek and Little Ivy River. Once back at the stop sign on Beech Glen we turn left and go .9 of a mile and turn right on Long Ridge Road and start the ascent back to Mars Hill. Long Ridge Road climbs approximately 1.5 miles with an average grade between 4 and 5%. Once at the top of Long Ridge Road we take South Main Street back to the college for the final mile of the ride! The family fun ride climbs a total of 1500 ft. and the maximum grade is 7%! This should translate into a fun and very scenic ride around the communities skirting Mars Hill!
