Dr. Reigle specializes in early modern poetry and drama, including Shakespeare. Her pedagogical and research interests include early modern cultural studies, law, and religion; Renaissance humanism, Neo-platonic philosophy, and gender studies. Dr. Reigle’s current research project examines the post-Reformation position of virginity in early modern society, with particular attention to the ways in which shifts in law and culture brought about by the Protestant Reformation impacted singlewomen in the period.
