I am very excited to be joining the MHC English Department. During the Fall 2011 semester, I will be teaching ENG111: Expository Essay, ENG190: Introduction to Literature, and LAA321: Creativity. I have also taught courses in American literature, research and composition, Latino/a studies, and service learning. My teaching and research interests include twentieth-century American literature and culture, English as a second language, ethnic American literatures, first-year composition, secondary English education, and world literatures. I have published on authors including James Baldwin, Willa Cather, Sandra Cisneros, Roberta Fernández, Zora Neale Hurston, Arthur Miller, Walker Percy, and Eudora Welty.
