I am very excited to be a part of the MHC Department of Language and Literature. I teach courses in freshman composition as well as ENG190: Introduction to Literature, ENG205: American Literature Survey, ENG322: American Literature Since 1900, ENG329: Diversity in American Literature, and LAA321: Creativity. I have also taught courses in Latino/a studies and service learning. My teaching and research interests include twentieth-century American literature and culture, English as a second language, ethnic American literatures, first-year composition, secondary English education, and world literatures. I have published on authors including James Baldwin, Willa Cather, Sandra Cisneros, Roberta Fernández, Zora Neale Hurston, Arthur Miller, Walker Percy, Leslie Marmon Silko, and Eudora Welty.
