Samantha Delgado
Samantha participates as a
member of our women's golf team. She also finds time to
be actively involved in Delta Zeta sorrority.
How did you find out
about MHC?
I was looking at small private colleges in North Carolina
were I would be able to play golf while still getting
a quality education. I came upon Mars Hill College on
the web and I liked the fact that it was in the mountains.
Being from Florida, we do not see mountains down there.
I scheduled a meeting with the golf coach, was offered
a scholarship, and here I am!
What is your favorite thing about being a student here?
I absolutely love the student body here! Everyone is so
nice and there is so much school spirit! Mars Hill is
my second home and the people that I have met make the
experience so worth while! I also love the fact that it
is a small community. Everyone seems to know you on a
first name basis!!What
are your future plans?
I want to be an LPGA player! Ha Ha. In all seriousness,
I want to graduate from Mars Hill and attend Grad School
for Pharmacy to become a pharmaceutical Doctor.
Do you feel
MHC has prepared you for the career you want?
Absolutely! My professors are AMAZING! All they really
want is to see a student succeed and make their dream
a reality. I love the small class sizes because you
get that one on one personal attention that you don’t
find at big universities.
What is your
favorite memory of MHC?
Well I still have two more years to go, but up until
now, I believe it has to be Homecoming my sophomore
year. I was student representative for Homecoming Court
and the parade and game were so much fun! I remember
sitting in the stands with my sisters cheering for the
football players and just having an awesome time. The
entire Mars Hill community was there and there was so
much school pride!! It really shows what Mars Hill is
really about!
