Daniel Amick
Daniel was a very successful
runner in high school and was immediately selected to
join the MHC Cross Country team. His winning attitude
has been a huge success both in the classroom and at the
races. Daniel is a senior this year and was named SAC
runner of the week.
How did you find out
about MHC?
There was a college fair type event at my high school
and the MHC representative mentioned that they had a good
cross country team.
What is your
favorite thing about being a student here?
The size of the school, I like the fact that you can
walk through the streets or halls and know everyone
that passes by, or at least know of them. You can’t
get that at a big school.
What are your
future plans?
I want to be a park ranger, or like every athlete, be
a cross country coach.
Do you feel
MHC has prepared you for the career you want?
Mars Hill has done the best job possible to prepare
me to be a park ranger, and a great job if I decide
to coach, but more importantly this school has shaped
my character. Through the liberal arts program it has
either changed or strengthened my outlook on lots of
issues.
What is your
favorite memory of MHC?
Either cross country nationals in Ashland, Ohio or training
camp 2004. I’m sure that will change to this year’s
cross country nationals in Pomona, California.
