Ways you can help "Make
the Difference"
Alumni often say they want to do something
to help Mars Hill, but aren’t always sure how they can make
a meaningful contribution, especially if they live far away from
campus.
Well, there are many, many ways you
can help "Make the Difference"! The members of the National Alumni
Board developed this list of "25 Ways You Can Help Make the Difference,"
to provide suggestions of 25 ways that alumni, parents, and friends
can help advance the mission of Mars Hill through your time, experience,
and/or resources.
Some of these ideas require very little
time or effort, but can bring tremendous benefit to our alma mater.
You can make a difference right now! Take a look at the list and
see how you can help Mars Hill.

Make
a gift to the Annual Fund. Every gift, regardless of size,
will make a difference. |
| 2 |
Help recruit future Mars Hillians and
encourage a prospective student to visit
campus. |
| 3 |
Hire
Mars Hill students and graduates. |
| 4 |
Mentor current students. Contact our LifeWorks office. |
| 5 |
Support Mars Hill athletics. Attend and cheer loudly at games! |
| 6 |
Attend an alumni event in your area,
and take an old classmate with you. |
| 7 |
Host a MHC event. (Events include student
receptions and alumni gatherings.)

Update your mailing address,
e-mail address, job information, birth of children,
etc. by visiting the Alumni
Web site or calling (828) 689-1102. |

Act as an ambassador and share
your love of Mars Hill. |

Stay
educated about Mars Hill;
share what you know with others.

Register
with Alumnet, our online community. Network and build relationships
with other MHC graduates. |

Visit
campus. Come see what's new on "The Hill!" |
| 13 |
Wear Mars Hill clothing
and/or display Mars Hill paraphernalia at home and at work. |

Be sure your local high school is well
informed about Mars Hill. Offer to meet with counselors, and/or
stop by our Admissions office to pick up materials to take back
to your community. |

Subscribe to Inside
MHC (provide your email to us), Mars Hill’s electronic
newsletter. |

Help the Records Office locate
“Lost” alumni. Encourage alumni to keep records up to date. |
| 17 |
Identify potential college donors
for scholarships, endowments, and naming opportunities. |
| 18 |
Recruit five new Giving
Society donors. |
| 19 |
Write a letter
of recommendation for a student applying to Mars Hill. |
| 20 |
Identify future leaders for the National
Alumni Board. |
| 21 |
Attend and promote Mars Hill cultural activities. |
| 22 |
Remember Mars Hill in your will
and estate plan. |

Read From these Stones Magazine,
and share it with a friend when finished. |

a former professor and say "thanks" for his/her
