Keeping Up With Cosmo

Cosmo
A Weekly Update From Everyone’s Favorite Mountain Lion!

Brrr….It’s getting cold up here on the Hill. I’m getting ready to head home to visit family and friends for the holiday break. Bring on the hot cocoa!! If anyone gets a tacky Christmas sweater from Grandma…just remember I love tacky Christmas sweaters (hint hint). I hope all our students made it through their finals with their sanity! I hope everyone has safe travels over the holiday break.

Happy Holidays Everyone,
Cosmo

Hey, all you Cosmo readers! (The lion blog, not the magazine of course.) There are a lot of exciting community outreach events happening at the Hill this week! On Wednesday meet on the upper quad and participate in the Peace and Unity Candle Light Vigil at 6:30 in attempts to bring the community together! Have you ever wondered what it would feel homeless or a mountain lion in the wild?! Scary thought, right? Meet at 8 p.m. on Wednesday to camp out in front of the library with everyone! It’s called Homeless on the Hill; you can put yourself in their paws. The men’s basketball team will have a game Tuesday at 7. Come dressed in blue or gold! Our swim team and volleyball team are going to have a super busy week, make sure you come out in support for them too! The cross country team will be competing in the NCAA Division II national championships this weekend. All that running, this lion couldn’t do that! Wish them luck as they represent our school. This week is going to have a lot going on but remember next week is Thanksgiving, which means remember the people in your life that you are thankful for! It also means food!!! — so this Lion is getting prepared for a delicious feast!

Snow at Mars Hill College

SNOW!!! We ended October with a huge snow storm at the hill — I bet no one predicted that to happen. I hope everyone had a spook-tacular Halloween, I know I did! It is getting colder outside so make sure you are putting on your winter furs before you head off to class. There are a lot of things to prepare for in the upcoming weeks! Election day is this Tuesday — Cosmo for President anyone?? Make sure you do your part and vote! Come out and support the football team as they play their last conference game at Carson-Newman. The Mars Hill volleyball team are working hard this year, come out and join me in supporting them! Our basketball games are starting up as well on the hill so come out and cheer them to victory!! So many events going on! The Winter Formal is coming up, make sure you have a date and tickets, they just went on sale!! Anyone wanting a tall, handsome, fur-covered bachelor as a date? I promise I’m a great dancer — just watch out for my over sized feet! Have a good week and stay safe around campus!

Cosmo and cheerleadersThis week has been a roaring success for Mars Hill. Our Bailey Mountain Cloggers brought home their 20th national championship! They still haven’t let me on the team, probably because they don’t make shoes in my size. On top of that, our football team beat TC on Saturday in overtime. I got so into the action that I joined the cheerleaders in lifting the crowd’s spirit! (Can you guess which one’s me in the picture?) It was a good weekend to be a Mountain Lion! This week is going to be busy at the Hill as I put the final touches on my Halloween costume for the festival on Wednesday! It’s my favorite holiday so I’m going all out. There is also a pumpkin carving going on in the cafeteria — I’m thinking about carving me, which is going to be difficult since I have paws. Well it’s time to go claw out the guts and seeds of this future Cosmo pumpkin. See you around the Hill.

Cosmo is back…YAY!!! Sorry for the delay on the blogs, I went into hibernation over the summer to make sure I wouldn’t miss anything exciting going on during the school year here at MHC and wouldn’t you know it that I forgot to set my alarm clock! (Probably because I don’t know how to tell time.) Anyway, it’s looking like another great year to be at the Hill. All of our athletic teams are having an amazing fall season. Men’s Cross Country just won their 16th straight conference championship. Do you realize that’s almost as old as this mountain lion! It’s an exciting time on campus as well because it’s my favorite holiday—HALLOWEEN!!!! This year I think im gonna go as a burglar. Get it?? CAT burglar—I’m so funny! Anyway, on top of Halloween the ladies of Delta Zeta are having their fundraiser tonight and CAB is showing the Hunger Games on Thursday. I also get to meet all the new potential students this Saturday at admissions "Halloween on the Hill" visit day! Well I have to run now but I’ll be back soon.
