CosmoA Weekly Update From Everyone’s Favorite Mountain Lion!

2/16/2012

So…. super excited because I got this email earlier this week from our President of the College, Dr. Dan Lunsford, telling us about all of these wonderful things that are coming to campus in the next few months! I can’t wait! I jumped so high, I think I might have scraped my ears on the top of my cave…. It’s totally worth it though. Anyways…. this week has been great, but I’ve been sooooooo busy. On Monday, I went to this class about money management…. I didn’t do so great… apparently you have to know what money is before you can manage it…. (P.S. Lions don’t use money…); on Wednesday I went to Name That Face II before the basketball games to hang out with some awesome people. and get to know some people who I had heard of, but not seen….. On Thursday I thought I was going to give some blood for the Delta Kappa Theta Blood Drive…. Turns out that Awesome is not a blood type….. (They asked me what my blood type was, and figured since I’m awesome, my blood would be too? Oh well…). They wouldn’t let me give my blood….. So I went to go check out the Unveiling of Our Treasures in Peterson Conference Room. I learned so much about the Spiritual Heritage and the Appalachian Values of Mars Hill College. I am so proud of our professors and students who have worked so hard on this project! On Friday, BSA is holding their valentine’s day dance from 9pm-1am in Timberline! It’s going to be so much fun, I can hardly wait! This Saturday is a day of service at MANNA Food Bank in Asheville, and there are TONS of sporting stuff going on throughout the entire weekend, that everyone should come to! Everyone should come, not only to see me, but to cheer on our MHC Lions! Well, that’s it for now…. Catch you on the flip side…..

Hey everyone! First off, let me just say…. WHAT A GAME! I mean the Super Bowl is just amazing anyway, but this year it just seemed more amazing than ever! And what about those commercials…. HILLARIOUS (they’re the best part). I hope everyone got a chance to watch it, and have a great time doing so….. Anyways, this week is going to be so crazy! One thing that I just can not wait for is the Dating Game (on Thursday 2/9 at 8pm) in Timberline. I don’t have anyone to join with…… but I know some of the contestants and it should be a really great show! Also, I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve already started saving up for my Valentine’s Day cards! I’ve got some really cool ones picked out this year; I found some that have these kittens on them… and to be honest, they look a lot like my second cousins….. I wonder if it really is them…. anyway, it’s going to be purrfect…. I hope I get a lot of Valentine’s Day cards back this year! I got one last year from a Secret Admirer, and was super excited. Also, I can’t wait for Saturday to meet all the new potential students at the Accepted Student Visit Day. You know Cosmo will be there to make an appearance and give out some free hugs and well wishes!

Well, that’s all for now…. Until next time!

It’s that time again….. Rush season is here once again! It’s so much fun to watch the little future fraternity and sorority people running around having fun with late night scavenger hunts, activities, and whatever other things they make them do…. I could never do that stuff, but more power to them! Also, I can’t wait for all of the fun things going on throughout the week! Intramural basketball is this Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8pm in the Auxiliary Gym….. Can’t wait to come out there and show off my mad hoop skills…. maybe I’ll dunk it on Dan Morris (The Outdoor  Center Director)…. SGA is on Thursday morning at 11am in Belk Auditorium, can’t wait to see what’s going on in the school and what our students are working on! Also, there is a Choral Festival on Friday and Saturday, I am so excited to go and listen to all of the high school students who might be future lions!

Well, that’s all for now! Catch you on the flip side….

So what is with this weather….did winter just completely miss us? I was outside today and it was so warm that my coat started shedding….  On the bright side, I’m looking forward to roasting some marshmellows (and some people’s eyebrows) over the HUGE bonfire that’s going to be behind Fox on Thursday night, I can’t wait! Also on Thursday, MHC CAB is hosting a trivia night, which means I’m going to run the house and win those prizes! AND FREE PIZZA! (how great is that??) I can’t wait for all of the Spring sports to get underway, everyone is going to have such a great season this year, and I can’t wait to get out there with some of my new jerseys!

That’s it for now….. see you later!

Sooooooooooooo glad to be back on the Hill! I had a wonderful, well deserved, break from school and everything else but am so happy to be back home now! It’s a new year, and you know what that means….. New year’s resolutions! What was yours… well I guess it doesn’t matter because you and I both know we aren’t going to keep up with it! Anyways, classes started this week, and so far I LOVE all of my classes! I have this awesome class called yoga, (it’s the only class I’ve ever been in that it’s acceptable to sleep in!), and you better believe that I’ve been getting my Zen on! (maybe one day I’ll figure out what Zen is….). On the bright side, we are in the midst of swim season! I can’t wait to cheer our Men and Women’s swimming Lions as they paddle it out against Pfeiffer this Saturday, it’s going to be great (I hope I can blend in when I get there…. I bought some swimmies and a floating device for safety). Also, good luck to our Men and Women’s Basketball Lions as they take on Tusculum on Saturday! I’ve only been back for a couple of days so far, and so many great things are happening already, this is going to be another great semester on the Hill!

HAPPY NEW YEAR’S! I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by! It has come by so fast, that I haven’t even had a chance to think about what my new year’s resolution is going to be…..what do you think it should be? I’m thinking maybe not to hunt as many animals this year….. or what about to turn my FASFA in on time this year……or maybe I should start working out and eating better (yea right!)…… oh, I know! What about to root on the Mars Hill Lion athletic teams until I die! yup….that’s what it is! Anyway, time to go sleep because I was up all last night, Happy New Year’s!
Here’s to a wonderful 2012!

Well…..SANTA CAME! I didn’t think he’d find me all the way out here in my Lion’s Den, but he did! I got so many great presents this year! I don’t know what to do with myself….. I can’t believe that Santa knew to bring me a new tooth brush and tooth file, a new brush, (I even got some cat-nip, but don’t tell anyone, Shhh!); so many wonderful gifts….. but the thing I am most excited about is seeing all of my wonderful Lion family! They’re all coming over tonight to celebrate this wonderful occasion! There’s going to be a huge party; we’re all getting together and we’re going to sing karaoke, play board games, and even some lion tag (we invite some deer and other animals to play with us….. lions gotta eat…) and then have a huge Christmas dinner! YUM
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and that no one got any coal from Santa (like MHC Admissions) Just kidding…..

12/13/11
Well…..I am officially "Decking the Halls" as they say now that I am officially done with exams! Let me just say, that it feels soooooo good to be done completely with these dreaded finals….. On a brighter note, I can finally relax for a while and bake some of my yummy annual Cosmo Cookies! They have some flour, sugar, and a secret family recipe (deer); YUM! There is nothing like sitting back, enjoying a nice cold glass of milk, and a yummy Cosmo cookie by the nice warm fire! (I can finally do that now that I got a fire place in my cave, it gets so cold at nights….). Christmas is coming quickly… Thank goodness I’ve gotten all of my Christmas presents bought and wrapped! Does it count if you cut your hair off and make a blanket out of it to give it as a Christmas present….just curious…. So when is it going to snow?!? I’ve been waiting all year for it to snow so that I can go sledding down Greek hill! I’ve worked so hard all year to keep my coat warm and shiny so that I can show it off when it snows!
Oh well….That’s it for now…. Have safe holiday travels!

12/6/11
I can’t believe this semester has gone by so fast! There have been so many great Senior Seminar Presentations so far, and there are so many more to come! I can’t wait! On Tuesday, Chartwells is making us our annual Christmas Dinner! I can’t wait for all of that Turkey, dressing, and all the fixin’s, (although, I’ve already told you how I feel about Turkey when it was Thanksgiving)! Also, on Tuesday night from 7pm-10pm the Moonlight Madness Sale at the MHC Bookstore is going on! I’m so excited because I can go and get all of my Christmas shopping done; my family is going to be so excited when they open my presents! (who wouldn’t want a piece of clothing with my beautiful face on it?!?) Also, on Wednesday night, there is the late night breakfast in Pittman Dining Hall, that the MHC Faculty and Staff make for all of the students…. Of course I’ll be there, duh! (who wouldn’t want a free late night breakfast?!?) Exams start on Thursday…. I’ve been studying so hard that I need some time to get away from studying, that’s why I sure am glad that there is a Women’s Basketball game at King College (at 6pm) so that I can go and support our Lady Lions! Then on Sunday, the MHC’s Cyclocross Team is competing in the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference Championships at Lees-McRae College!!
I hope everyone has safe travels and wonderful holidays! See you next year!!!!

11/28/11
Happy (Late) Thanksgiving everyone!
I am still so full from eating way too much…….. I am glad though that I didn’t get stuck eating that overly stuffed turkey that everyone always eats….. never made much sense to me, why eat a turkey on thanksgiving? They’re way too easy to kill….eat something that’s challenging to kill, like a bird that can fly or something. Myself, I enjoy eating a nice juicy deer that I go and catch out in the woods……YUM!
I had some friends from The Hill invite me to their house for Thanksgiving dinner, and I brought my own meat…..I hope they weren’t angry…..oh well!
The good thing about after Thanksgiving, is that Christmas is right around the corner!! I can’t wait! I have been such a good lion this year, and Santa is going to bring me tons of things that were on my list, like some teeth sharpeners, some new fur conditioner, and this great book I heard about: "The pouncing lion: 10 New Sure Ways to Get Your Most Squirmy Prey" (I can’t wait for that one!). Oh and congratulations to my football guys on the wonderful season they put up! Don’t worry, we’ll get them next year Lions, you better believe I’ll be out there!
Anyways, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, and safe travels back home! See ya later!

11/15/11
How exciting was that game on Saturday?? I had to let out a huge GROWL to the football team for winning the SAC Championship!!! It was a great way to end the regular season! Tonight I’m going to go to Zumba for the first time….. it might not go as well as planned…but we’ll see…. (it’s hard to dance like that with a tail the size of mine…) Dodge ball starts tomorrow! I can’t wait for it to start…. I’m very limber and light on my feet (I’ve been practicing my pouncing skills) I can’t wait for Thursday to come because the Mars Hill College Campus Activities Board (or CAB) is showing a FREE movie for us in Belk Auditorium, how could you pass up free anything? (and the best part is, I’ve heard there is going to be FREE food and drinks too!!!) That’s it for now…..

Cosmo a.k.a. "King of the Hill"

11/9/11
So excited for the soccer game tonight! The fact that the MHC Men’s soccer team made it into the Division II NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament just wants to make me GROWL! (Sorry I can’t help it sometimes….) And tomorrow night I get to strut my stuff and sing my fur off at Karaoke night in Timberline! I think I may sing “I just can’t wait to be king”….what do you think?? On Friday, I think I may crawl on down to the Bailey Mountain Cloggers’ Annual Silent Auction…. I always love a good Clogging show! Maybe I could win something cool to put in my den! Saturday is the senior day, and the last home game of the season….. I can’t wait to get out there and hunt me some Eagles! Well, that’s all for now…. I need to go practice my pouncing and jumping so I can catch me some Eagles on Saturday!
