Admissions Counselor – Last Names Beginning A – D
I’m a 2009 graduate of Allegheny College and a world traveler. During my four years as a student at Allegheny, I double majored in Political Science and French. Having spent my junior year in France, I am very passionate about encouraging students to study languages and spend a semester or year abroad. As a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Phi Sigma Iota Honor Society, Allegheny Swimming and Diving Team, and Phonathon Team, I feel strongly about students getting involved in campus activities and exploring their passions and interests. Having grown up in Europe, attended college in Pennsylvania, and now working in North Carolina, I believe in students trying new experiences, discovering new places and gaining friends from wherever they go. Aside from working in the office, I greatly enjoy cooking, traveling, exploring Asheville, and playing with my pet greyhound, Justine.

Admissions Counselor – Last Names Beginning E-K
I am a 2013 graduate of Ashford University where I earned a B.A. in Psychology as well as two minors; one in Sports and Recreation Management and one in Social and Criminal Justice. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda and of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Returning to college as an adult motivates me to let others know that overcoming obstacles to acquire an education is not only possible, but highly valuable. As a new member of the Admissions team at Mars Hill University, I am looking forward to working with students to help them pursue their goals. I am happy to field any questions they may have during the admissions process as well as through their time here on campus. I am a wife and mother of three whom in my free time enjoys spending time with my family whether that be reading, cooking, hiking, camping or just hanging out at home.
Jameson Donnell / 828-689-1206
I graduated from Mars Hill in 2012 with a BA degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice. I had the privilege of being a part of many activities and organizations on campus. I was active with SGA, Executive Board, Christian Student Movement, Chief of Defense, Student Mentor, Lifeworks Hiring Committee, Marksmanship Society, and many more. I believe that getting involved promotes growth within oneself and will surely broaden your way of thinking about campus life, as it did mine. I am a native of Greensboro, NC but consider Mars Hill, NC my new home where I have learned to appreciate all the things it has to offer. I know this beautiful place inside and out and have come to appreciate it, as well as the people that live and thrive in this community. As a counselor, I encourage students to step outside of their comfort zone and experience campus life to the fullest. Mars Hill to me is not only a place, but a state of mind. My education is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life and the people I have met through my educational experiences are now a part of who I am.

I graduated from Mars Hill in 2009 with a B.S. in Business Administration and minor in Sociology. I look back knowing that my admissions counselor had a huge impact on my choice to attend Mars Hill- and I’m glad she did. I enjoyed my 4 years as a student being very involved. I was VP of the Business Honor Club, a Student Ambassador, leader of one of the Christian Organizations, the Presidential Intern, a Challenger, and even travelled to Greece. I hope that you will take the time to give us a call with your questions and schedule a campus visit. I will walk you through the admissions process, connect you to the opportunities offered here, and make sure you have everything you need to start your career at Mars Hill.

Information & Applications Manager
I graduated from Mars Hill in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While at Mars Hill I was a Bailey Mountain Clogger, student ambassador, and worked in the Admissions Office. I now enter applications, transcripts, and test scores into our database. I loved my time here at Mars Hill and I am excited to be working here and continue to have the chance to tell students how great Mars Hill is.
Tips for students from the staff:
- Start early. Take the SAT and ACT multiple times, research schools, schedule a visit, apply to schools, apply for scholarships, ask questions and keep in contact with your admissions counselors! (We like to hear from you!)
- Visit campus. There is no better way to get a feel for the school and determine if it’s the “right fit.”
- Talk to current students, parents, teachers, mentors and coaches about their college experiences and try and determine where you may best excel.
- Don’t be afraid to choose a major that you love.
- Enjoy college! It is an extraordinary time in your young adult life when you get to try new things, make new connections and dedicate yourself to what you are passionate about.
