We encourage all students planning to enroll to attend our Summer Orientation Advising and Registration (S.O.A.R.) program. This one-day event will prepare you for the fall semester in many important ways. You will be taking necessary placement tests, and meeting with faculty members to help you register for your fall classes. You will also attend to other crucial tasks such as taking care of medical and immunization records, registering your vehicle, and having your picture taken for your Mars Hill College student ID card. Current students have found that their first days on campus in August are much more fun and relaxed, having taken care of these fundamental details during the summer.

At SOAR, you will meet representatives from the faculty as well as from Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Life, and other departments. These individuals are looking forward to getting to know you and will be available to help with any questions you may have. In addition, a program has been designed for parents, who are encouraged to SOAR along with you as they attend special parent-oriented information sessions throughout the day.

SOAR 2009 is scheduled for the following dates: Friday June 12, Saturday June 13, Friday July 17, and Saturday July 18. Please plan to arrive by 8:30 a.m. and come to Bentley Fellowship Hall for check-in, where you will receive your folder and agenda for the day. Space for all sessions is limited and is only available to those who have submitted the Student Information Form and paid the $250 Advance Tuition/Housing Deposit. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis. To confirm your attendance, simply complete the online registration form. Choose only one of the four available dates.

If you have any questions about SOAR 2009, the scheduled dates, or other enrollment issues, please feel free to contact the Admissions Office, toll free, at 1-866-MHC-4-YOU, or Robin Cole, Assistant Dean of Students/Dir. of Orientation at 828-689-1408. We look forward to seeing you on The Hill this summer and hope to make your transition to Mars Hill as smooth as possible!
