How much does it cost to attend Mars Hill College?

Are scholarships available?
Yes. Mars Hill College offers a number of academic scholarships in addition to its honors program, which provides scholarships based on academic talent, financial need, and/or commitment to service. Scholarships are offered through 19 NCAA Division II athletic teams, as well as the MHC cycling team. Additional scholarships are offered for performance talents or other specialty areas like: Music, theater, art and clogging.

Are freshmen required to bring computers?
No. If you do not have a computer, Mars Hill College has plenty for you to use. Our computer-to-student ratio is 1:6. All dorm rooms are internet accessible.
Can I have a car on campus?
Yes. All students can have cars on campus.
Is alcohol permitted on campus?
No. Alcohol consumption is prohibited on campus.
What if I do not have a roommate?
If you do not have a friend attending Mars Hill College, the Office of Residential Living will assign a roommate to you. The Residential Living Staff will make every attempt to match you with a roommate whose interests, lifestyle and bedtime are similar to yours! Or, better yet, you can encourage a friend to attend Mars Hill College with you!
What are the admissions requirements for Mars Hill College?
Freshmen Students interested in applying for admission to Mars Hill College must submit an official high school transcript, SAT or ACT score(s), a completed application for admission, and $25 application fee. High School coursework must include 4 English courses, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry, 2 History courses, 2 Natural Science. Two units in Foreign Language and 1 unit in Computer Science are recommended. Freshman applicants will be notified of an admissions decision within one week of a completed admissions file. The Admissions Office encourages all interested applicants to schedule a campus visit and check out Mars Hill College first hand. Transfers Students interested in applying for admission to Mars Hill College must submit an official high school transcript, SAT or ACT score(s), a completed application for admission, $25 application fee (waived for those who apply online by February 20), and official transcript(s) from all colleges attended. Do you have programs for adult students?
We sure do! Our ACCESS program offers four degree programs: business management, teacher education, special education, and social work. Adult ACCESS also offers licensure in teacher education, special education, teaching English as a second language, academically and intellectually gifted, and reading. Classes are offered at the MHC campus, at several other locations around western North Carolina, and online, so you can find a program that fits your busy schedule. What sports are offered at Mars Hill College?
Mars Hill College competes at the NCAA Division II level and is a member of the South Atlantic Conference.
Men’s sports include: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis and track & field.
Women’s sports include: basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track & field and volleyball.
A young, but very successful, cycling team competes at the NCCA (National Collegiate Cycling Association) Division II level.
Intramural and club sports are also available and include floor hockey, flag football, ultimate frisbee, softball, basketball, water polo, volleyball, road cycling, mountain biking, whitewater (rafting, canoeing, and kayaking), dodgeball, and disc golf.
What is there to do at Mars Hill College?
Mars Hill College is surrounded by cultural and outdoor activities. When you’re not "hitting the books," you can be involved in 43 campus clubs and organizations, including the Campus Activities Board, Student Government Association, Christian Student Movement, New Beginning Singers, Bailey Mountain Cloggers, ten Greek organizations, and numerous varsity, intramural, and club sports teams.
Love the outdoors? The Outdoor Center at Mars Hill College plans numerous trips each semester to go skiing, hiking, backpacking, camping and even rock climbing. Maybe the social scene is where you thrive. If so, bands, dances, and activities like "Monday Night Football" in the Loft, "Movie Night" in "Timberline," or crazy games like “speed dating,” planned by the Campus Activities Board keep students busy. If culture is your cup of tea, concerts, plays and lectures are available on a continuous basis.
Still looking for more? Asheville, NC, just 18 miles south of Mars Hill, also offers vast cultural and outdoor activities along with two malls, five movie theatres, and an exceptional variety of restaurants. Pisgah National Forrest is just a short drive away and offers mountain biking, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, canoeing, and rock climbing. The Appalachian Trail also offers hiking opportunities. If you like to ski or snowboard, Wolf Laurel Ski resort is just a 25-minute drive from campus. Whatever your interests, we’re sure to have something just right for you!
What is Mars Hill College’s religious affiliation?
