Assistant Professor of Health, Physical Education & Recreation
DESCRIPTION:
Mars Hill College, a private liberal arts college located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Health, Physical Education & Recreation. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate physical education pedagogy, human performance studies, coaching pedagogy and related courses in health and wellness promotion. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, advising students and serving on department and College committees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in PE Pedagogy, Human Performance and/or related fields. The successful candidate will have a proven record of excellence in teaching or demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching. Candidates must be committed to student-centered education as well as professional development, service, and scholarship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary duties will include, but not be limited to, the teaching of both introductory and advanced coaching, wellness promotion, and human performance studies courses. This position will also be responsible for advising majors in the department.
