AnneMarie Walter is the associate
director of the AAM program at Mars
Hill College. She works with in-service
K-12 teachers to create digital stories
using the Library of Congress and
other images that will positively
impact their student’s learning.
AnneMarie helped develop the digital
storytelling curriculum, teaches workshops,
and edits the AAM eNewsletter, published
weekly to nearly 1,000 teachers. She
also handles tech support for AAM
alumni teachers. With teachers in
the AAM program, she has presented
at the NC Educational Technology Conference
(2003 & 2004), the 2004 Appalachian
Studies Conference, and the 2004
Appalachian College Association Summit.
A graduate of Gannon University in
Erie, PA, AnneMarie came to the AAM
program after several years as a computer
trainer in business and industrial
settings. She is currently enrolled
in the Educational Technology graduate
program at East Carolina University.
Elizabeth (Liz) joined the AAM team
in June 2005. As Administrative Assistant
she manages inventory, records, reports
and helps prepare workshop documents.
An accomplished photographer and professional
video producer of eight years, she
brings her field experiences to the
AAM workshops. In addition, Liz composes
scores and records sound for local
independent films in her music studio.
She has studied electrical engineering
and photography and enjoys using technology
for creative purposes. Liz graduated
in 1987 with a degree in Radio and
Television Broadcasting Technology
from Isothermal Community College.
